Rapid Control Systems Development

CrossChasm leverages industry standard controllers, model-based design and automatically generated code to drive down design costs and speed time to market. Unlike conventional control systems, which carry a prohibitive cost outside of the reach of most small to medium OEMs, our innovative approach allows vehicle manufacturers to build high volume controllers on low volume applications at one-fifth of the cost.

CrossChasm provides turnkey application development for vehicle and industrial controller systems, specializing in the supervisory hybrid controllers that coordinate electric powertrain components. We develop and support full vehicle control system integration, as well as specialized component controls such as battery monitoring, engine management systems, and auxiliary and hydraulic controllers.

From code to wiring, we can help.

Benefits & Features

  • Auto-generated code reduces engineering time and cost
  • Model-based design allows simulation and validation of algorithms without a physical prototype
  • Excellent design flexibility with one set of code that can be easily migrated to more or less powerful hardware
  • Rapid execution with the use of our existing engine, vehicle and diagnostic code libraries

Controller Hardware

Working with our partners, there is an extensive list of available controllers. Three controllers currently in-use (or in development) by CrossChasm team members include:

Small but Powerful

CrossChasm

Small engine, battery pack, or by-wire supervisory control

With 13 analog inputs, 12 digital outputs, 7 high current PWM, 1 H-Bridge, and 1 CAN channel, this controller packs a lot of functionality into a small package. CrossChasm has developed an engine control system for a client using this controller.

High Performance

CrossChasm

Hybrid powertrain supervisory control and battery management systems

With 33 analog inputs, 10 specialized inputs (O2, speed, etc.), 33 specialized outputs, 2 H-bridges, and 3 CAN channels, this controller is packed with capability.

The I/O King

CrossChasm

Large engine control and I/O intensive applications

With 34 analog inputs, 15 specialized inputs (O2, speed, etc.), 43 specialized outputs, 2 H-bridges, 2 CAN channels, and an ISO 9141 channel, this controller is ready for the most I/O intensive applications.
