CrossChasm's CEO Named Among Top 40 Under 40

01/03/2010 - 9:00AM ET

Matt StevensWATERLOO - CrossChasm is proud to announce that Matt Stevens has been named among Waterloo Region's "40 Under 40".

The award, announced last week in a special section of the Waterloo Region Record, recognizes 40 young leaders from across the Region. Stevens was recognized for his contributions and leadership in the area of hybrid and electric powertrains.

The Waterloo Region Record described Stevens as a "mover and shaker in the world of hybrid vehicles", citing his roles in leading UW's winning entry in the North American Challenge X competition and more recently the success and rapid growth of CrossChasm.

Stevens completed his PhD at the University of Waterloo in 2009, researching and developing new methods for designing hybrid, plug-in, and electric vehicles. The CrossChasm team has since extended those simulation-based design tools, successfully assisting a number of clients to bring industry-leading powertrains to market.

Among the other community leaders to earn this year’s “40 Under 40” award are: the Institute for Quantum Computing's Michele Mosca, MT Space Artistic Director Majdi Bou-Matar, and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Executive Director Genevieve Twomey. Previous recipients have included Desire2Learn's CEO John Baker and Tangam System's founder Prem Gururajan.
